Two halls
An evening, two doors
Red Shores runs two halls on the island. One is Red Shores Racetrack & Casino at 58 Kensington Road in Charlottetown, attached to the Eastlink Centre. The other is Red Shores at Summerside, at 55 Greenwood Drive, connected to Credit Union Place. Each has harness racing, places to eat and drink, and lottery tickets. Atlantic Lottery runs both for the PEI Lotteries Commission, while this guide stands apart from all three.
The first thing to settle is the game you want. Charlottetown has slots and live tables, so cards or roulette mean the trip to Kensington Road. Summerside keeps a VLT floor only, with no slots, no tables and no poker.

Hours
How late the night runs
Charlottetown slots run from 11 am to 1 am Sunday to Wednesday, and to 2 am Thursday to Saturday. Blackjack, baccarat and Ultimate Texas Hold'em start at 12 noon Friday to Sunday and at 4 pm Monday to Thursday. They go on until close, and Red Shores never puts a clock time on it. Summerside's VLT floor goes from 11 am to 11 pm Sunday to Thursday. On Friday and Saturday it stays open to 1 am.
Every time here is island time, which is Atlantic time. Red Shores posts no holiday hours, so ring the hall's main number before a holiday.

Games
Choose the night by the game
Charlottetown has more than 150 slots, classic reel machines and video slots both. Its separate Table Games room deals blackjack, baccarat and Ultimate Texas Hold'em from 12 noon Friday to Sunday and from 4 pm Monday to Thursday. Poker runs Thursday to Saturday only, opening at 6 pm Thursday and Friday and at 4 pm Saturday. Roulette spins from 6 pm on those same three nights. Summerside is VLTs only, and Red Shores does not say how many.

Supper
Supper before the floor
In Charlottetown, O'Brien's Social Bar & Kitchen is downstairs and serves from 11 am to 8 pm Sunday to Wednesday, and to 10 pm Thursday to Saturday. Red's does Italian-style comfort food in front of a 14-foot screen, open 4 pm to 10 pm Sunday to Wednesday and 11 am to midnight Thursday to Saturday. Top of the Park looks down over the Driving Park from three tiers and is known for Sunday brunch and its race-night buffet. The Trackside Patio sits outdoors right next to the racing.
Summerside has one kitchen, the West End Bar & Grill, open 11 am to 8 pm every day. Charlottetown table bookings are taken by phone only, at 902-620-4264. The Grill's number is 902-436-8203.

Racing
Two old ovals
Charlottetown Driving Park goes back to 1888 and has a climate-controlled grandstand. Wagering is pari-mutuel: every bet goes into a single pool that is divided among the winning tickets. Races from other tracks appear in the Simulcast Theatre every day, 11 am until midnight.
Summerside Raceway opened in 1886 and is thought to be the oldest horse track in Canada that has raced without a break. Both tracks host live harness racing. Race dates are posted on the Red Shores racing page at redshores.ca.

Distances
From where you are staying
Measured in straight lines between town points, the two hall towns are 54 km apart. Driving over from New Brunswick, you cross the Confederation Bridge and land at Borden-Carleton. From there Summerside is 17 km and Charlottetown 44 km, again as straight lines. Roads always run longer.
Staying somewhere else on the island? The distance tool on this page gives the lines from your town. The tool measures to town points, not to the hall doors. Red Shores publishes nothing on parking or bus stops for either hall.
Your town, the two halls
Straight lines between OpenStreetMap town points · roads run longer
From North Rustico, Charlottetown is closer, by 8 km in a straight line.
Town points from OpenStreetMap; the halls sit in Charlottetown and Summerside, so a line ends at the town point, not at a door.
Door and card
ID and the club card
You need to be 19 or older on the gaming floors. Membership in the Rewards Club costs nothing, and cards come only from the Rewards Club Desk in the Charlottetown casino, and the desk wants valid government-issued photo ID. On slots, every $2 played earns 1 point. At the tables, points follow your time in the seat and your average bet, and the card goes to the dealer before you start. If an account shows no activity for 12 months running, it closes and the points go with it.
- On the floors19 and older at both halls, the same age Atlantic Lottery sets for all its products
- Rewards ClubNo cost · Charlottetown desk only · government photo ID · 1 point for every $2 played on slots
Online on PEI
Casino games online, island rules
On PEI, alc.ca is the provincially regulated site for online casino games; Atlantic Lottery operates it on behalf of the Lotteries Commission. No private online casino holds a provincial licence or registration of any kind. The province's 2023 to 2028 gambling strategy states that offshore online operators are not authorized to conduct and manage PEI lottery programs. Atlantic Lottery also says that no other gambling site may run or advertise legally anywhere in Atlantic Canada, whether or not it holds a foreign licence.
Here is the plain part about this page. Its Ad links all go to one private online casino, which pays the guide when readers open accounts there. That site is not alc.ca, and it is a separate business from Red Shores. Knowing all of that, you can decide with open eyes.

Help
When you need to talk or stop
- The PEI Gambling Support Line at 1-855-255-4255 costs nothing, stays confidential and answers at any hour, for players and for worried family or friends.
- Both halls have a PlayWise hub, and the PlayWise Advisor takes calls at 902-620-4267 or email at [email protected].
- Break in Play covers both floors for 30, 60 or 90 days or for 6, 12, 24 or 36 months, and once confirmed it cannot be cancelled.
Questions
Quick answers before you head out
Is there roulette on a Wednesday?
Wednesday has no roulette. It spins in Charlottetown from 6 pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and Summerside has none at all.
On a Tuesday night, where does play run later?
Charlottetown runs later: its slots go to 1 am on a Tuesday, while the Summerside VLT floor closes at 11 pm. The Charlottetown tables run until close, and that time is not posted.
Saturday, after 9 pm: where can you still get supper?
Go to Charlottetown: O'Brien's is open until 10 pm and Red's until midnight, while Summerside's West End Bar & Grill shuts at 8 pm.
Staying in Kensington, which hall is closer?
Summerside, by straight line: Kensington is 12 km from the Summerside town point and 45 km from the Charlottetown point. Roads run longer than these lines.
Do you need ID to get in?
The gaming floors are for guests 19 and older, and Atlantic Lottery sets 19 as the minimum age to play. Carrying valid government-issued photo ID makes sense, since the Rewards Club Desk asks for it.
